BDI Ltd is a leader in the furniture industry in Malta offering the most sustainable furniture products for all its residential and commercial customers.
We are currently looking for an additional team player to join our amazing purchasing team. You will be working closely with the management, sales team, admin team and the installation team on a daily basis.
The role is full time and based in our Qormi showroom.
This role would suit somebody working in the furniture and interiors industry, however anybody who is flexible in adjusting to a new challenging sector and who is willing to learn can apply since training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
• Working closely with the admin team, sales team, design team and the installation team
• Tendering products and chasing quotes
• Placing purchase orders with suppliers
• Correcting and confirming purchase orders
• Agreeing delivery schedules and liaising with transport companies to set up deliveries
• Producing cost and supply analysis on projects
• Negotiating prices with suppliers ensuring budgets are met
• Monitoring material supply issues and liaising with suppliers to ensure delivery dates are met
Qualifications
Skills & Experience
• Microsoft Office
• Experience with Shireburn Software or similar POS systems
• Ability to read technical drawings
• At least 1 year experience in purchasing & post sales role
• Experience within the furniture / design industry would be ideal
• A team player with a flexible, 'can do' attitude
• Excellent organisation skills
• Ability to communicate with internal and external parties both verbally and in writing
