Plant Maintenance Officer

Do you possess a degree in Electrical Engineering and good leadership skills?
Our client is looking for a qualified electrical engineer to fill the role of Plant Maintenance Officer. 

The maintenance officer is responsible for the status of the equipment managed on the plant and will assist the Plant Maintenance Manager in his/her duties as well as undertaking the following responsibilities:

Assisting as required to compile an annual maintenance plan and carry out related works according to the annual plan approved by the company
Being able to identify potential faults, defects and potential safety hazards
Assisting in preparing and reviewing plant policies and manuals and ensure that contractors carry out works according to standards
Being constantly aware of safety management, and be able to do work related risk assessments and write necessary standard
Communicating and liaising with subcontractors for work schedules and spares related to agreements in place


The chosen candidate will also need to:

Be available when necessary, including outside the normal working hours, to ensure that supply interruptions are attended at any time;
Keep abreast with the technological developments in the fields of traditional and alternative electrical power generation.

This is a full-time position in which you will be expected to work a 40-hour week and may also be requested to work longer hours when necessary. A competitive remuneration package will be offered to the ideal candidate commensurate to experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Relevant experience within a factory/power plant
Fluency in English and Maltese
Basic knowledge of Italian
Adaptable, organised and intelligent
Able to work well within as well as leading a team
