Junior Business Development Manager

George Vaswani & Sons Ltd

George Vaswani & Sons Ltd. is looking to recruit a Junior Business Development Manager to support its overall business strategy in the South Asian (especially Indian) market as a financial retail intermediary. The selected candidate will be responsible with implementing the company’s business development strategies and plans whilst ensuring an on-going healthy commercial activity. Besides working closely with the directors, the selected candidate is expected to carry out his/her duties under minimal supervision and be self driven. The candidate will be expected to contribute towards the company’s growth by identifying new opportunities in the South Asian territory.

Main Tasks
• Create commercial opportunities to enhance the company’s business both trough existing and new clients;
• Keep abreast with latest market developments that affect the company’s operations;
• Carry out market research and competition analysis;
• Draw out business plans that support the company’s strategic objectives;
• Achieve sales targets and use own initiative to implement corrective measures when required;
• Develop and implement strategic changes in order to maintain competitiveness and increase performance;
• Obtain customer feedback and use such feedback to improve the business operations;
• Provide ad-hoc decision and support to the directors;
• Identify new market opportunities and take the lead on constructing a robust and successful business proposal that secure new deals, contracts and long term relationships;
• Maintain strict confidentiality on the business operations;
• Develop and maintain an excellent rapport with key stakeholders;
• Representing the organisation at meetings, trade exhibitions, events, demonstrations and other related activities both locally and abroad;
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Marketing, Economics, Accountancy or related subjects.

Experience and Skill
• Minimum 3 years of experience in marketing, applicable to both Maltese and South Asian markets;
• An existing proven network in the South Asian market;
• Fluent in English, Hindi and Malayalam, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
