Control Panel Tester

• Inspect and test electrical panels used to control elevators for conformance with the specifications, following blueprints and wiring schematics by using electrical testing equipment and instruments.
• Compare the wiring and location of control devices on panel with blueprints and wiring diagrams to verify assembly.
• Examine wiring for loose or faulty connections.
• Connect leads from panel onto the power source leads to prepare for testing purposes.
• Turn rheostat to impose and regulate current loads onto panel controls and observe action of relays, cut-outs and other devices for conformance with the specifications.
• Test wiring circuits and controls to isolate and locate causes of malfunctions, using electrical instruments such as voltmeter, ammeter and ohmmeter.
• Record causes of malfunctions on the test sheets and route defective panels for rework.
• Change defective control devices on panel by using hand tools and solder loose or faulty wiring.
• Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.
• Compile timely and proper documentation as per departmental procedures.
• Make recommendations for improvements and upgrades (where applicable).
• Share information across the organisation by using the right communication flows.
• Apply appropriately mannered communication skills with clients, colleagues and superiors
• Comprehend customer requirements, provide high quality service and customer support during site visits.
• Oversee the preservation of both the clients’ and company’s property and equipment.
• Be aware of electrical, mechanical and chemical health and safety issues; also understand appropriate manual handling techniques.
• Attend any training provided by the Company and sit for the respective assessments accordingly.
• Maintain customer’s trust relationship by keeping service information confidential.
• Follow all company’s filed procedures and protocols.
• Any other duties as may be necessary from time to time.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience in the service field
• Preferably MQF Level 5 Diploma or MQF Level 4 Certificate in Electrical/ Mechanical subjects
• Excellent written and oral proficiency in both English and Maltese
• Possess a valid driving license
• Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules
