Shop Supervisor

As a Shop Supervisor the employee assists the Shop Managers and lead the Shop Assistants in a variety of tasks to ensure a smooth operation of the business. A Shop Supervisor should lead by example at all times.
The Shop Supervisor duties include;
Customer Care;
• Greeting customers as soon as they enter the shop.
• Providing excellent customer care to our customers
• Assisting customers in any queries they might have
• Forwarding any customer complaints to the manager or supervisor on duty
Product Display and Stores;
• Checking deliveries vis a vis invoices
• Making sure that all displays are stacked in an excellent manner including; correct pricing and facing
• Following the FIFO system
• Notifying the Manager whenever a product is out of stock
• Inputting details of goods received on the electronic system through a handheld PDA
• Maintaining of stores in a clean and tidy manner



Cash duties;
• Counting cash till at the beginning of the shift to make sure that the float is correct
• Cashing people’s shopping as required
• Processing of cash and card payments
• Preparing cash float for next shift

Procedures and Policies;
• Following all Health and Safety regulations at all times in all areas
• Updating of all documentation including temperature sheets and cleaning schedules
• Following of standards and company procedures

Supervisor Duties;
• Coaching and training of employees
• Ordering of items from suppliers in the absence of the manager
• Carrying out of any spot checks requested by the manager
• Motivating, helping and encouraging the team to better their performance

Others;
• The cash desks and walkways are to be kept clear at all times
• Other duties that might be requested from time to time

Qualifications

• Be able to understand and communicate well in English
• Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a food retail chain environment
• Understanding in Category Management
• Have excellent communication skills
• Have good leadership skills
• Be ready to work on a shift basis
• Be available to work emergency shifts whenever necessary
• Be able to work in a team whilst having own initiative
