Food Safety Co Ordinator

The role’s main responsibilities include:
• To support the Technical Manager in ensuring that all aspects of the Food Safety and Quality
Management System are implemented.
• To contribute in the development of new products and process improvement.
• To assist in the maintenance of the ongoing HACCP plan.
• To carry out food safety audits and validation exercises.
• To review and maintain raw material and packaging supplier’s food safety documentation
• To contribute to the company’s food safety culture and certification status.
• To ensure that all food safety, legal and customer requirements are met.
• To review and assess pre-requisite programs and the processing environment, providing
feedback and taking prompt corrective action when required.
• To interact with various departments to achieve site goals, maintain and drive standards,
systems and procedures through auditing and root cause investigation.
• To update and review food safety documents and production templates.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be:
• A science or food technology graduate or equivalent (Relevant experience in a food
manufacturing environment will also be considered)
• Fluent in both Maltese & English and have excellent communication skills
• IT literate
• A team player and able to work on his/her own initiative
• Positive and can-do attitude
• Proactive and able to multitask
• Have excellent analytical skills with emphasis on problem solving, attention to detail,
report and procedural writing skills.
• A result orientated individual having the drive and flexibility to succeed in a fast-paced
environment.
