? As skipper they are absolutely in charge of the vessel whilst on charter and
assume the responsibility for the safety and well being of the clients and crew
? At no time are they expected to compromise safety in order to satisfy customer
desires, expectations or needs, ie target shooting in unstable conditions,
allowing clients to drink excessively and to a point where they endanger
themselves or the vessel
? Skippers are to ensure that at all times their vessel is in a safe and seaworthy
condition and ready for charter. If not management must be notified.
? All accidents/incidents must be reported as per company requirements
? Skippers are required to maintain all documentation relevant to boat
? Skippers are responsible for the maintenance and appearance of the vessel, this
includes responsibility for cleanliness and pumping out of the boats.
? Skippers are responsible for the conduct of other company staff during the trip
and are obliged to report irregularities to management
? When accounts are being reconciled on board the skipper should oversee and
should usually take responsibility for any ensuing monies
? Skippers are at all times required to observe and operate within the laws and
regulations
? Skippers are required to secure vessels safely to the wharf, jetty or mooring
and ensure the vessel is left in secure state with all windows, doors, vents
closed and followprocedures for engine room shutdown and domestic
systems ie water pumps,
? Most importantly skippers are at all times required to be of a pleasant and
helpful disposition and in doing so ensure an atmosphere of warm hospitality
on board and a happy work place. This in turn leads to happy and satisfied
clients and a successful company
Qualifications
Licence over 24 Nautical Miles
