Mechanic

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Perform diagnostics on chassis system: engine, supply and power, transmission, coolant systems, suspensions, brake systems, air systems, AC;
• Issue work orders and follow up on requests sent to the storehouse;
• Perform diagnostics on vehicle electrical breakdowns and incidences, preventive and corrective works;
• Handling and care of diagnostic equipment and tools;
• Carry out general maintenance, service and repairs duties on mechanics efficiently;
• Ensure that diagnostics and repairs performed on vehicles are safe and reliable, and fulfill government standard requirements;
• Fill out job cards or any other documentation related to the job to fully assure traceability;
• Ensure effective cleaning and organization of work areas and tools at all times, including hazardous wastes management;
• Ensure compliance to policies namely security, health and safety, data protection, quality assurance and eco-friendly established in the area of responsibility;
• Follow the Team Supervisor instructions;
• Carry out other duties that can be allocated or delegated by Management.
Selected candidates will be required to work shifts between Monday and Sunday on a roster basis, including night shifts.
Qualifications
Requirements:
• Three (3) years working experience in maintenance and repair of heavy vehicles;
• Ability to work with minimal supervision;
• Intermediate level in either English, Maltese or Spanish - (verbal & written);
• Must be organized and able to coordinate and communicate well with others;
• Ability to work in a team and on own initiative;
• Have problem solving skills.
Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge and experience on one or more of the following:
• Maintenance and repair of diesel engines;
• Braking and pneumatic systems;
• Good diagnosis and repair knowledge.
• Euro 5 and 6 exhaust management systems.
The role and remuneration package offered will depend on qualifications obtained and working experience.
