BRICKLAYER/STEEL FIXER

We are looking for a Steel Fixer and Bricklayer Workers to join our highly reputable, independent construction company based in Malta. The chosen candidate would be a team player looking to be involved in the realisation of specialised and innovative projects engineering solutions with a passion for detailing and execution on a range of exciting and prestigious new-build and refurbishment projects.

To be conversant with, set up and operate various trade machines, tools and equipment to achieve the required designs and structures to high standards. Such may include but shall not be limited to flame cutters, drill presses, lathes, press-break and shears.
To fabricate and assemble steel products and structures. More specifically, to measure, fabricate, cut, weld and shape steel parts, following drawings provided and any instructions from the supervisor to perform required tasks. The steel worker will also need to assemble and erect the fabricated structures as needed and in accordance with engineering plans and technical specifications.
To read and interpret blueprints and sketches as well as take and/or read measurements as necessary to plan layouts and procedures.

To ensure quality by examining workpieces for defects and ascertain that they conform to the specifications and the company’s quality standards.

To study and interpret assembly instructions.

To plan the fitting and /or assembly operations together with the respective team members.

To perform on-site repairs at client locations.

To participate in the preparation of materials and equipment prior to on-site deployment.

To dismantle structures when and as necessary.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years’ experience working in construction as Bricklayer and Steel Fixer.

A recognised qualification up to diploma level in this field would be considered an asset.

Experience working with various trade machines, tools and equipment, capable of using them effectively and safely.

Able to read and understand related blueprints, technical documents and drawings and follow technical specifications to fabricate and install steel structures in line with requirements provided.

Able to communicate effectively in English.

Able to stand for long hours, lift heavy objects and to conduct repetitive motions.

Trained to work effectively at heights for installation purposes.

Passion for precision fabrication and construction.

Able to work under pressure completing tasks with minimal supervision, attention to detail, and able to work closely with others in the team.

Strong work-ethic and willingness to learn.
