Junior Architect (Structural Engineering Stream)

The selected candidate will form part of a small team responsible of a number of ongoing and upcoming construction projects, taking care of the pre-implementation requirements (including the structural design) and also supervising the implementation as a perit. Unwarranted candidates will also be given exposure to other aspects of the profession in preparation of their warrant application and their Warrant Training Record Book.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate who has a degree in structural engineering and who has been recently warranted as a perit to join our team. University graduates who are is in the process of being warranted, or who are finishing their structural engineering studies this year will also be considered.
Essential qualities:
• A positive attitude towards work;
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to an office system which they are not used to.
• Good communicational skills, especially with their senior.
• Willingness to develop an independent attitude and to acquire confidence to work on self-initiative.
• A high degree of organizational skills.
• Knowledge of structural design from a local perspective would be considered a valuable asset.
The selected candidate must possess:
• Good command of the Maltese and English languages.
• Good computer knowledge including AutoCad, Mircosoft Office and at least of one type of structural analysis software.
• Basic knowledge of tender documents and Bills of Quantities.
• Basic knowledge of Planning Authority procedures will also be considered as a valuable asset.
• Basic knowledge in the preparation of pre implementation documents (Condition Reports, Method Statements etc.) will also be considered valuable.
