
Inventory and Credit Controller

Principal Purpose: The role of Inventory and Credit Controller within the finance team, is to ensure adherence to the policies and procedures concerning the inventory and debtor collection areas of the business.

Principal Responsibilities
• Responsible for the implementation and management of the credit policy by managing debtors and collection
of dues
• Categorisation of clients and determining cash or credit customers
• Maintaining updated client records
• Determine credit worthiness of customers and grant appropriate credit terms
• Implement policy and procedures for the timely issuance of statements
• Liaising with other members of the team for the collection of dues
• Ensuring the timely and effective collection of dues
• Monitoring debtor balances for adherence with agreed credit terms
• Responsible for collection of dues and handling of disputes with customers
• Immediate flagging of default accounts and taking immediate corrective action
• Responsible for the implementation and management of the stock policy by managing the stock cycle, across
wholesale and retail activities
• Determining the optimum stock holding levels, reorder quantities and order frequency
• Monitoring of short dated and slow-moving stock and actions to move such stock
• Responsible for stock control, including stock takes and analysis thereof
• Devise and implement internal controls to optimise the stock cycle
• Monitoring discounts allowed, stock adjustments and credit notes
• Development of inventory analysis reports
• Assisting with other ad-hoc tasks
Qualifications
A finance background is essential, and previous experience in stock management and/or credit control is needed for the role.
