Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Asian Chef specializing in Sushi and Wok to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Asian cuisine, particularly Japanese sushi and a variety of wok-prepared dishes. This role involves preparing and presenting high-quality sushi and wok dishes, maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the kitchen, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Sushi Preparation:
Prepare various types of sushi, including maki, nigiri, sashimi, and specialty rolls.
Ensure the freshness and quality of ingredients used in sushi preparation.
Maintain a clean and organized sushi station.
Wok Cooking:
Prepare and cook a variety of Asian wok dishes, ensuring taste and presentation standards are met.
Operate wok stations efficiently, managing high heat cooking techniques.
Ensure consistency in taste and portion sizes of wok dishes.
Ingredient Management:
Source, inspect, and handle all ingredients with the highest standards of quality and safety.
Monitor inventory levels, ensuring timely ordering and restocking of supplies.
Minimize waste through proper handling and storage of ingredients.
Kitchen Operations:
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
Participate in menu planning and development, introducing new and innovative sushi and wok dishes.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Sushi Chef and/or Wok Chef in a reputable restaurant.
Deep knowledge of Asian cuisine, particularly Japanese and other East Asian dishes.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
Strong knife skills and experience with sushi and wok cooking techniques.
Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
