Housekeeper

Palazzo in Mdina is looking for a year round housekeeper who is also able to manage the house during the absence of the owners and, in summer, check in/check out short term guests renting the house.

Between October and May an average of 8h per week of general cleaning is expected: vacuuming, mopping, dusting, ironing, window cleaning, bathrooms and bedrooms etc. The 4 bedroom house is occupied by one couple with occasional guests. In those months the candidate can choose the day(s) of work and timing. All work can be done in one day or split between two days.

From June until September the house is let out for short stays on AirBnB, Booking.com, Trip Advisor etc. Flexibility is required from the candidate to welcome and clean between guests which may be on different days of the week. More cleaning will be expected too (3 bedrooms & bathrooms, outdoor space, laundry, ironing...), check in/check out of the guests, management of the property: liaising with the technical teams looking after repairs etc. essential shopping for guests (like milk and bread), availability for emergency guest calls. Approximately 10 hours per week. Longer hours are available if the candidate will also do gardening.

Remuneration: 11.50€/h

Qualifications

Fluent English and the right to work in Malta is a must.

A self motivated, hard working candidate is ideal. Previous experience in housekeeping and welcoming are a plus. Interest in gardening is welcome.

Your education level is less important to the position. Your sophistication, personal culture and people skills are much more important. Sense of independence, responsibility, hygiene, cleanliness and esthetics are crucial.

You must be available as required in the summer months to match guest requirements.
