SHOP SALES ASSISTANT

Gauci Borda, a leading provider of marine and industrial supplies, is seeking a motivated and energetic Shop Sales Assistant to join our team running the Gzira outlet on a full-time basis.
Key responsibilities include:
Maintain a well stocked and organised shop floor;
Operate the Point-of-Sale Terminals and invoicing;
Analyse client requests, prepare and send quotations;
Assist clients by suggesting suitable products for their requirements;
Stock-taking when required, check incoming stock and help with pricing of products;

The selected candidate will be based in the Gzira shop and working hours will be Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.30pm and Saturdays morning. The shop is closed on Saturday afternoons, Sundays and public holidays. Hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week are paid as overtime.

On the job training will be provided and initially will be working under supervision. However, this post is NOT intended for short-term employment due to the extensive training involved. This is an ideal post for a young person who is open to a new challenge in life and would like to pursue a career in sales and shop management with excellent prospects for growing within the company.

Qualifications

School Leaving Certificate;
Must be fluent in English and Maltese;
Basic computer knowledge literacy especially Microsoft Outlook and Excel;
Basic knowledge of mathematics to be able to perform simple calculations;
Strong communication skills and sales-orientated mindset;
Energetic, honest, hardworking, willingness to learn, and capable of working in a team;
No experience is necessary and on the job training will be provided;
