Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Control Specialist to support our trading and operational activities by ensuring accurate cost tracking, reporting, and control across all shipments and transactions. This role is critical in enhancing financial transparency, supporting informed decision-making, and identifying cost optimization opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and track operational, logistics, and trading-related costs across all shipments and transactions.
• Review cost estimates, invoices, freight charges, demurrage, port expenses, and other trading-related - operational costs.
• Verify, validate, and reconcile vendor invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with contract terms.
• Prepare cost reports, variance analyses, and dashboards for management decision-making.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing cost data, trends, and cost-saving insights.
• Collaborate with operations, logistics, trading, and finance teams to ensure accurate cost allocation.
• Identify cost deviations and potential inefficiencies; investigate root causes and provide recommendations for - corrective actions.
• Maintain an up-to-date cost database, pricing benchmarks, and cost control documentation.
• Assist in improving internal cost control procedures, workflows, and reporting processes.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and financial accuracy standards.
• Support audit processes by preparing cost summaries and required documentation.
• Assist in month-end closing activities, including accruals, cost adjustments, and reconciliations.

Qualifications

Candidate Requirements

• Fluency in Azerbaijani and Russian is mandatory (written and spoken).
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, international trading environment.
• Experience in cost control, finance, accounting, or operations within commodities, logistics, or trading
- environments is an advantage.
