SHOP SALES ASSISTANT

GAUCI BORDA, a leading provider of marine and industrial supplies, is seeking a motivated and energetic Shop Sales Assistant on a full-time basis to join our team running the Gzira outlet.

Key responsibilities include:
Operate the Point-of-Sale Terminal and invoicing;
Maintain a well stocked and organised shop floor;
Analyse client requests and prepare and send quotations;
Assist clients by recommending suitable products for their requirements;
Stock-taking when required and checking incoming stock and pricing of products.

The selected candidate will be based in the Gzira shop and working hours are Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5.00pm. Occasionally, you may also be requested to work on Saturday mornings. The shop is closed on Saturday afternoons, Sundays and public holidays. Hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week are paid as overtime.

In-house on the job training will be provided and initially the selected candidate will be working under continuous supervision. Please note that this post is NOT intended for short-term employment due to the extensive training involved. This post is ideal for a young person who is open to a new challenge in life and would like to pursue a career in sales and shop management. Qualifications

School Leaving Certificate;
Must be fluent in English and preferably Maltese;
Basic computer knowledge literacy especially Microsoft Outlook and Excel;
Basic knowledge of mathematics to be able to perform simple calculations;
Strong communication skills and sale-orientated mindset;
Energetic, honest, hardworking, willingness to learn and capable of working in a team;
No experience is necessary and on the job training will be provided.
