Farmer's Deli

This is a Part- Time position in an Organic Fresh Food and Dry Goods Business Operation. The operation is predominantly run in the mornings, which may include Saturday, and it offers the opportunity for extra working hours to be made. The selected candidate will be expected to be organized and methodical in the packing and preparation and of organic fruit & veg boxes for delivery. Standards and SOPs need to be followed for packing.

The selected candidate would be responsible to work on own initiative and to perform the following duties among others:

• Organise a production line
• Select, control and ensure quality of fresh produce
• Prepare orders received online and to ensure that orders are correct prior to dispatch
• Follow procedures in order to pack orders into boxes against quality standards
• Ensure that boxes leave the distribution point for delivery
• Keep work-place and warehouse organized, neat and clean
• Liaise with the ordering staff on stock levels
• Assist in Stocktaking exercises
• Communicate with the entire team
• Work on own initiative as well be able to work harmoniously within a team

Qualifications

Qualifications as listed below or the equivalent:
• Literate and with good basic communication skills
• Spoken and reading knowledge of English, Maltese and Italian

Previous experience of:
• working in agriculture or a warehouse or retail establishment of fruit & vegetables;
• quality control;
• standardization and consistent quality product standards.

The selected candidate will:
• be willing to learn about the Organic Food and Organic Products Industry;
• have a keen eye for detail, be organized, rigorous and have a meticulous character;
• be able to deal with stress and to perform with deadlines;
• work fast without compromising quality;
• be able to carry reasonable loads of produce from the warehouse to the distribution area for packing;
• have a driving licence with own transport.
