In this position of Butcher you will be working in a manufacturing plant and you will be responsible for:
Responsibilities:
- Cutting, grinding, and preparing meats for distribution
- Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment
- Removing bones from various meat parts
- Sharpening and adjusting knives and cutting equipment
- Receiving, inspecting, and storing meat upon delivery
- Store meats in refrigerators or freezers at the required temperature
- Weighing, labelling and pricing products in an efficient manner
- Preparing of meat including boning, tying, grinding, cutting and trimming
- Maintaining and cleaning the meat preparation counter to reduce the risk of food contamination and adhere to food safety guidelines.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- 1-2 years’ experience as a butcher
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of food safety
