Workshop Controller

Continental Cars Ltd specialises in Automotive and has an opportunity for a Workshop Controller to join our team on full-time basis.

You will be responsible for overviewing the fixing of customers’ cars.


Tasks:
• Control the start and finish times on the jobs required
• Work closely with the Aftersales / Workshop Manager and other personnel to ensure that vehicles are repaired in a timely, safe, and correct manner
• Conduct daily progress meetings and report any problems or unexpected delays to the Aftersales / Workshop Manager
• Ensure that tools and other equipment are maintained in a good working order
• Provide assistance to production staff where necessary
• Analyse and carefully log into production documentation any defects found
• Report inspection and test data to the Aftersales / Workshop Manager
• Ensure that protective equipment provided by the company is always used by employees
• Greet customers at service reception and carry out required diagnosis on vehicles, determining the work required and issuing the appropriate job sheet and estimate of works required
• Set up customer appointments and generate the required repair order prior to the appointment date
• Deal with customer complaints as instructed by the Aftersales / Workshop Manager and follow the appropriate complaint handling procedure
• Advise the customer as to the type, range and cost of the repair order, recording and following up uncompleted work
• Provide a timely and efficient service both on the counter and on the phone to avoid unnecessary complaints, queues, and delays
• Obtain any necessary consent from customers for any additional works or services requested
• Ensure that customer vehicles are adequately handled and protected
• Check invoices for correctness and explanation of individual items to the customer as required
• Liaise with warranty executives regarding any warranty and goodwill claims
• Perform quality control checks and damage reports, including raising the necessary franchise reports
• Test drive vehicles with customers to understand their concerns
• Test drive vehicles after repairs to make sure that faults are rectified by filling in the appropriate quality thick sheet
• Follow up on all job cards to make sure every customer has been contacted during the day

Qualifications and Experience:
Previous experience within the automotive industry, particularly workshop control or technician
Qualified Motor Vehicle Technician
Holder of Malta/EU Driving License
