The 2008 Malta Euro Coin Set, jointly issued by Maltapost and Lombard Bank, is a highly collectible BU (Brilliant Uncirculated) presentation pack created to celebrate Malta's adoption of the euro on January 1, 2008.
It features the first eight Maltese euro coins (1ct, 2ct, 5ct, 10ct, 20ct, 50ct, 1E & 2E) as well as the first stamp in euro (issued on 1st January 2008) and the last stamp in Maltese lira (issued on 31st December 2007).
The 1, 2, and 5-cent coins feature the Mnajdra Temples, the 10, 20, and 50-cent coins depict the Maltese coat of arms, and the €1 and €2 coins display the Maltese cross.
