€ 600
Description
Very rare unglazed decorated drinking vessel by Alfarero de Agost 1887 with elongated body, drinking spout, filling opening and handle made to keep water cool. Agost cantereria goes back, at least, to the eighteenth century. The stored water is filtered through the pores of the clay and in contact with the outside dry environment it evaporates, producing a cooling. The key for cooling it, is by the evaporation of bleed water, as the water evaporates, it extracts thermal energy from the water stored inside the jug.
