Heavy Machinery and Truck Mechanic

Our road construction company is looking to engage a Heavy Machinery and Truck Mechanic who will be prepared to work and team up to ensure the upkeep of our fleet of machinery needed for the day to day running of our company.
This position is being offered on a full-time basis. We offer on-the-job training together with opportunities for advancement. H & S measures are high on our agenda, above everything else.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Garage Administrator.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties assigned by the Garage administrator.
• Test equipment and machinery to ensure it is in good working order.
• Assist in the maintenance required for the upkeep of the machinery.
• Clean up job site at end of day and ensure all equipment is properly
secure for the night.
• Follow instructions to ensure the H&S of entire team.
• Ensure quality standards are maintained.

Salary
• Negotiable accordance to experience.
• Overtime and bonus payments are allowed as necessary

Qualifications

• Experience in repair and maintenance of heavy machinery.
• In-depth knowledge of OSH guidelines.
• Understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to communicate and work within a team.
• Work under pressure.
• Problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in operating heavy equipment in the trade.

Qualifications

• Experience in carrying out mechanical works to heavy equipment in
the trade.
• Experience in operating heavy equipment in the trade
• Academic qualifications relating to the job.
