Oriental Food Chef

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES – ORIENTAL FOOD CHEF

The duties and responsibilities of the Oriental Food Chef include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Team Leadership: Lead and supervise the team members in the Savoury Section, to ensure a smooth and productive workflow.
• Ingredient Procurement: Take charge of ordering the necessary ingredients and supplies required for the preparation of items within the Savoury Section.
• Safety and Hygiene: Enforce stringent safety measures, maintain impeccable hygiene standards, and diligently record fridge and freezer temperatures to ensure food safety.
• Food Preparation: Execute food orders with precision and attention to detail, consistently delivering dishes of the highest quality to our customers.
• Recipe Adherence: Ensure strict adherence to the established recipes for all items in the Savoury Section. (Any modifications or alterations must be approved after proper testing and tasting.)
• Stock Management: Perform daily stock checks to identify and address any shortages or item availability issues, ensuring uninterrupted production.
• Production Schedule: Collaborate with the Factory Operations Manager on a weekly basis to review and execute the production schedule, ensuring efficient production planning and resource allocation.

REQUIREMENTS

• Possess Food Handlers Course B
• Minimum 3 years relevant experience
• Excellent technical knowledge and skills
• Thorough knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety, Food Safety and Chemical Safety
• Ability to work unsupervised and deliver quality work
• High level of attention to detail
• Adaptability to change and willingness to embrace new ideas and processes
• Analytical and strategic planning skills
• Competent level of English spoken and written
• Good communication skills / coaching skills / team management skills
• Positive and approachable manner, displaying a positive attitude
• Team player qualities
• Solution-oriented and pro-active work approach
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently
• Willing to work in shifts (Monday to Sunday, including public holidays)
