Job Summary:
GALEA Moving & Transport Ltd a well established company in the field of domestic logistics is seeking a highly organized and experienced Warehouse and Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our warehouse and logistics functions. This role is critical to ensuring efficient inventory management, timely dispatch of goods, smooth supply chain operations, and a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, operational expertise, and a hands-on approach to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Management:
Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching goods.
Ensure accurate inventory control and stock management using warehouse management systems (WMS).
Implement and monitor procedures for handling, storage, and distribution of materials.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Operations Oversight:
Plan and coordinate logistics and operational activities to meet delivery timelines and customer expectations.
Analyze operational data and performance metrics to improve processes and reduce costs.
Work closely with procurement, sales, and customer service teams to ensure seamless operations.
Schedule and manage staff shifts and workload to meet operational demands.
Leadership & Team Management:
Lead, train, and supervise warehouse and logistics personnel.
Conduct performance reviews and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Promote teamwork, morale, and a safety-first culture.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all warehouse activities comply with company policies and legal standards.
Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and training sessions.
Manage and maintain equipment and tools in safe and working condition.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in warehouse, logistics, or operations management (3–5 years minimum).
Skills:
Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems and logistics software.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Forklift license or certification (desirable)
Have proven experience in the field of furniture distribution (desirable)
Applicant must be able to communicate in both English and Maltese fluently.
