Cost Controller

The Preluna Hotel

The Preluna Hotel in Malta is currently looking for a Cost Controller to join their Finance department on a full-time basis.

The main responsibilities of the Cost Controller is to analyse the procurement and cost control mechanisms aimed to ensure the proper utilisation of the company’s funds.
The main tasks amongst others include:
• Calculations of standard recipe cost detail.
• Calculate potential food and beverage costs.
• Pre-cost all menus of all purchases and prepared items.
• Produce monthly F&B cost reports.
• Investigate and report any irregularities or excessive costs.
• Conduct purchase price comparisons.
• Conduct monthly stock takes and compare physical stock amounts with theoretical stock amounts.
• Any other duties required by management from time to time.

Qualifications

Desired skills:
• Strong administration, organisational, multitasking and prioritisation skills.
• Knowledge of cost control principals.
• Ability to analyse data and prepare reports.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A high level of confidentiality.
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy and dynamic environment.
• Competency in Microsoft Office applications and use of other application software.
• Flexibility and willingness to learn.
• Ability to speak and understand Maltese. Previous experience in a similar role is not essential but will be considered an asset.
