In 1915 a Geographical Section was formed in the Naval Intelligence Division of the Admiralty to write Geographical Handbooks on various parts of the world.
The effort was repeated for the Second World War, with 31 titles ( in 58 volumes ) being published in the period 1941 - 46.
On offer here is volume 1 of the series on Italy ( BR 517 ), published in 1944.
The book is in hardback form, has xiv + 595 pages, was published by Oxford University Press and is in satisfactory condition considering it is now 75 years old.
