I am reaching out to share a heartfelt community initiative and to explore the possibility of your support in helping bring it to life.

There are currently an estimated 2,500 people living with dementia in Malta. This growing need highlights the importance of compassionate, inclusive programs that support cognitive health and social connection.

This project is deeply personal to me. Over 30 years ago, I had the privilege of working in London’s film industry at the iconic Empire Cinema in Leicester Square. It was there that I met Patricia—an extraordinary woman and the dedicated secretary to the President of CIC/Paramount Pictures. I was a cinema manager at the time, and we shared a profound love for film, collaborating on numerous premieres and experiencing firsthand the powerful emotional connections that cinema can foster.

Patricia sadly passed away on Wednesday, 21 May 2025, at Gozo Hospital. In her honour—and as a tribute to all those affected by dementia—I am launching the Dementia-Friendly Film Club in Gozo.

This initiative will provide a welcoming, sensory-friendly space where individuals living with dementia, along with their families and carers, can come together to enjoy classic films, spark memories, and rekindle a sense of joy and community. Such programs have been shown to enhance cognitive engagement, emotional well-being, and social inclusion.

To help launch this project, we are currently seeking donations of projector equipment and audiovisual resources. As a company known for delivering cutting-edge display solutions and fostering positive social impact, I believe ViewSonic’s involvement—through equipment, visibility, or partnership—could be instrumental in bringing this vision to life.
